What actually happens at a home podiatry visit

Letting someone new into your home, or your mum's home, deserves a proper explanation of what will happen. Here's a home visit from start to finish, so there are no surprises for anyone.

Before the visit

You (or a son, daughter or carer) book by WhatsApp or phone. We confirm the day, time and exact price in writing. On the day, we send a message when we're on the way so nobody is left wondering who's at the door.

Checking my registration

You can check my podiatry registration at any time using the online HCPC register.

The visit itself

  1. A chat first: general health, medication, and what's been bothering you. Nothing is rushed.
  2. Both feet examined: skin, nails, circulation and sensation, wherever you sit most comfortably. Your own armchair is the clinic.
  3. Treatment in the same visit: nails trimmed, hard skin reduced, dressings applied, all with sterilised instruments in sealed packs, a fresh set for every patient.
  4. Everything explained: what we found and what it means, in plain English. A cup of tea alongside is entirely welcome.

Afterwards

You get simple aftercare advice. If the visit was booked by family, and you are happy for us to do so, we send them a short WhatsApp note so they know how it went. If anything needs your GP, we write it up clearly so you can take it straight to them. Many people book their next visit before we leave, but there's never any pressure.

What it costs

With the new-patient discount, first visits range from depending on treatment. Standard prices range from . Your price is fixed and agreed before booking, with no call-out fee on top. The full price list is public, so there are no surprises on the day. You pay after the visit by cash or bank transfer.

The first message is the only hard part.

Everything after that, including the time, price and visit, is arranged for you.
