Foot health checks at home

  • Full top-to-toe assessment
  • , no call-out fee
  • Honest, practical advice

Think of it as an MOT for your feet: a full assessment of skin, nails, circulation, sensation and footwear, with everything explained in plain English. It's an ideal first visit if you're not sure what you need. It is also an honest one, because sometimes the answer is that nothing needs doing at all.

What we will do

  1. 1. Listen: what's changed, what hurts, what you're worried about, plus a quick health and medication history.
  2. 2. Examine: skin, nails, circulation and sensation in both feet, and a look at the shoes you wear most.
  3. 3. Explain: what he found, in plain English, with a written summary if you'd like one and honest advice on what (if anything) to do next.

Who it's for

  • A change you're not sure about, such as a patch of hard skin, a nail that looks different, or new aches when walking.
  • Families who want a professional eye on a parent's feet, and a clear report of what was found.
  • Anyone recently out of hospital, starting to walk more, or managing a condition that affects the feet.
  • A sensible annual once-over, even when nothing feels wrong.

Good to know

What if the check finds something?

Most findings are simple and treated on the spot. This might include reducing hard skin, trimming nails or adjusting footwear. If something needs your GP or a specialist, we write it up clearly so you can take it straight to them. See also corns & calluses and nail cutting.

Is this the same as a diabetic foot check?

They overlap, but the diabetic check goes deeper on nerves and circulation and produces a summary written with your GP or diabetes nurse in mind. If you have diabetes, book the diabetic foot check instead. It is in the same price range.

Do I need anything ready?

Just a comfortable chair with decent light, your usual shoes, and a list of any medication. We bring everything else, and no, you don't need to tidy up first.
